RUSHEEN N.S. FUNDRAISING BINGO NIGHT
A week ago our Bingo night was held in Aghinagh G.A.A. Hall to raise money for Rusheen N.S.
Adam Ring, Chloe O’Driscoll, Ted Roche, Brenda Cummins, Luke Ring, Cornelia O’Regan, Ann O’Leary and Helen O’Brien were among the prize winners for the raffle. There were different colours such as white, blue, orange, green, yellow and pink in the bingo book.
The school raised €1,777.78 in the fundraiser. Garry O’Brien and Michael Creed called out the Bingo Numbers. Sponsors included the Riverside Hotel, Supernova, Toymaster, 4 Dogs Grooming and Dunnes Stores.
The school principal was at the fund raiser. Parents of pupils set up the Bingo in the new G.A.A. Hall. There was a huge crowd there and many prize winners.

TEAM HOPE CHRISTMAS SHOW BOX APPEAL 2015
A few weeks ago children all around Ireland sent off shoe boxes to Tunisia, poor parts of Africa, Georgia and more of Eastern Europe. Over all, Ireland sent 270,000 shoeboxes out to other poorer countries. A huge 200,000 went to refugees.
We put items in the shoe boxes such as hats, socks, gloves, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sweets, little toys. You can pick your age group and the age groups are 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14, which give you a very nice range to choose an age group. When you see the pictures and videos of the children receiving their shoe boxes, it really does warm your heart. I would truly recommend it. It is great fun making and wrapping the shoe boxes, then sending them off. The amount of happiness it brings them is crazy. It’s the best time of year for them opening the boxes and seeing all their gifts.

SCIATH NA SCOL 2015
This year we competed in Group 5 of the Sciath na Scol Football Competition. We beat Knockraha by 2-5 to 1-3 and Dripsey by 3-0 to 1-4. Then we easily beat Cobh by 5-6 to 1-4. The Semi-Final was much tougher and we lost to Inch by 3-11 to 2-6. We were upset when we lost the Semi-finals. A lot of matches were away, but the last one was at home.

TEAM HOPE CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX APPEAL
Pupils from 3rd to 6th Class participated once again this year in the Team Hope Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. This is a very worthy cause and pupils enjoyed having a chance to help those less well off than themselves.
