THE PLOUGHING VISITORS

On the 26th of October 2018, J.J. and Jeremiah Delaney came to our school to tell us about horse ploughing.  They brought two cups, a trophy and a medal that they had won for ploughing in the last year.  Jeremiah came 1st in the All-Ireland U-40 and J.J. came 2nd in the Senior Horse Ploughing.  We asked them lots of questions.  Their horses are called Paddy and Toby.  They said that if they ploughed one acre, they would walk 11 miles.  There is not much horse ploughing now but J.J. and Jeremiah are keeping the tradition alive.  They brought us lots of sweets.
