5th Class outside Kilmainham Jail

We woke up early on the morning of our school tour.  We were heading for the Cork train station to get the train to Dublin.  We were all very excited and were talking and playing games on the train on our way to Dublin.  We hopped off the train and headed for the Dáil.  It was a very interesting place and it was huge.  After this we went to the National Art Gallery.  When we walked in the door we saw all sorts of paintings.  There were big ones that nearly took up most of the walls and there were normal sized ones.   Some of the paintings were based on World War II and others were on the famine.  They were all very interesting.  Our next stop was Kilmainham Jail.  It was the first jail we had ever visited and it was amazing and huge.  It was built entirely out of brick and stone.  Our guide showed us where they used to hang people long ago.  After this we went shopping for an hour.  It was great fun.  After our big day, we got back on the train and went home.  We had a great day, can’t wait until the next school tour.
