OUR TRIP TO THE WIND FARM

On Monday the 3rd of March, 5th and 6th Class went to the Burren Wind Farm.  It was about 20-25 minutes away.  We all parked up near the gate and Chris Murnane gave us a few safety tips and we headed up to the Burren Wind Farm.  We drove up and saw colossal Wind turbines.  We parked near one of them.  We then got a tour of the wind farm.

Geoffrey Wycherley and Chris Murnane gave us loads of facts about the wind farm, e.g.  There are 60 lorrries of cement in the base of each turbine.  They are 82m high.  They also told us a lot about the benefits of wind energy.  We took photos and measurements.  We made our own wind farm in school and here is a photo of it.
