FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASS 2012

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion was celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church Rusheen on Saturday, April 28th.  Ten pupils from Rusheen N.S. received the Sacrament, Catriona Buckley, Ciara Cummins, Jack Kearney, David Kelleher, Rhiann McDermott, Chloe O’Driscoll, Dylan O’Riordan, Èireann O’Shea, Adam Ring and Niamh White.  The beautiful April morning set the scene for a joyful and spiritual ceremony celebrated by Fr. Ryan.  Each of the 10 children and their parents played a special part in the Mass, in the Readings, Responses, Prayers of the Faithful and Presentation of the Gifts.

A special mention must go to Class Teacher, Miss Cooney, for all her hard work, to Mrs. Deasy for preparing the choir and to organists Katie O’Callaghan and Ellen Coakley.  The Church Maintenance Group are to be commended for the beautiful way they had prepared the church for the occasion.  Also, thanks is due to the Parents’ Association who provided lovely refreshments in the school afterwards.
