The First Holy Communion Ceremony for Rusheen N.S. 2nd Class pupils was celebrated on a fine Saturday on the 18th of May in St. John the Baptist Church Rusheen.  Nine pupils received the Sacrament, Danielle Twomey, Eoghan O’Brien, Robbie Cunningham, Conor Murray, Thomas Morgans, Rachel Kelleher, Clodagh O’Riordan, Ryan Leahy and Moira Leahy.  They were all beautifully dressed in dresses, veils,  suits, waistcoats.  Thanks to Fr. Ryan for celebrating such a joyful and spiritual ceremony.  Each of the 9 children and their parents played a special part in the Mass, in the Readings, Responses, Prayers of the Faithful and Presentation of the Gifts.  The Parents’ Association provided lovely refreshments in the school afterwards. The day was great and the weather stayed good for the communion children.
